Medical Emergencies in Dental Practice

The General Dental Council recommend that dental professionals complete a minimum of 10 hours CPD on Medical Emergencies during each 5 year CPD cycle, and that they complete at least 2 hours each year. I am able to offer a flexible package to meet the needs of your practice. The training will be delivered at your practice, and can be during the day, the evening or at the weekend depending on what is most convenient to you and your colleagues.

Every course includes CPR (both adult and paediatric). The majority of Dental Practices add Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training, because the majority now have access to an AED as per Resucitation Council (UK) guidelines.

You can also include training in the recognition of some of the other medical emergencies which may occur infrequently in dental practice, including asthma, anaphylaxis, heart attack and angina attack, hypoglycaemia, epileptic seizure and faints. This training will be related to the emergency equipment and drugs at your practice, familiarising staff with what is available in an emergency.

Each successful candidate will be issued with a certificate showing the number of hours CPD represented, and meeting the requirements of the General Dental Council for verifiable CPD.

I am also able to offer the option of online and blended training for Dental staff, which may be more convenient for you and your staff. You can get more information by clicking this link Basic Life Support for Dentists and Dental Surgery workers or the button below.
